In the remaining parts of the city, normal supply will continue from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm.
Chandigarh News: The water supply in Chandigarh will be affected today and tomorrow due to a pipeline repair, the Municipal Corporation of Chandigarh said.
It said that replacement of a damaged 1000 mm diameter pipeline from Water Works Sector 39 to Water Works Sector 52 and Sector 32 is underway to ensure an uninterrupted clean water supply.
It added that the permission has been granted to keep the water supply closed for 24 hours from 07.01.2026 to 08.01.2026.
During this period, no pumping will be carried out from Water Works Sector 52, while water supply from Water Works Sector 32 will be partial.
The water supply schedule across different parts of the city will be affected as follows:
January 7, 2026 (Wednesday)
Morning: Water supply will remain normal.
Evening – Supply Shut: There will be no water supply in Sectors 44, 45, 48 to 56, 61 and 63.
Low Pressure: From 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, water will be supplied at low pressure in Sectors 20 C&D, 21 C&D, 31 to 34, 44 to 47, Industrial Area Phase 1 and 2, and Ramdarbar.
January 8, 2026 (Thursday)
Morning: Normal water supply will be available in Sectors 44, 45, 48 to 56, 61 and 63 from 5:00 am to 9:00 am.
In the rest of Chandigarh, normal supply will be available from 3:30 am to 9:00 am.
Evening: Normal water supply will be available from 6:00 pm to 8:30 pm in Sectors 44 to 56, 61, 63, 20 C&D, 21 C&D, 31 to 34, Industrial Area Phase 1 and 2, and Ramdarbar.
In the remaining parts of the city, normal supply will continue from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm.
Residents have been requested to store water in advance as per their requirement and cooperate with the inconvenience caused due to this essential maintenance work.
