The FIR has been registered against the gym trainer, and the accused has been sent to judicial custody.

Chandigarh news: A 28-year-old gym trainer has reportedly been implicated in 11 cases of sexual assault. The individual has been arrested by the police. According to authorities, "The accused was identified following the verification of nearly 1,000 white Activa scooters across the Tricity. One of these scooters was used in the commission of the crime incidents involving sexual assaults on women."

The FIR has been registered against the gym trainer, and the accused has been sent to judicial custody. The accused has been identified as Sawan Bhatti, who is a gym trainer in Mohali and holds a degree in BSc Computer Science. He resides with a live-in partner in Chandigarh.

The SHO of Sector-17 Chandigarh, Sarita Roy said that the accused has been involved in a series of sexual assault incidents. The news was registered at Sector 16 police station based on the account of a young lady, who said she was sitting in the park attending a call from her friend. It was around 10:30 PM on May 19 when the power went out, and suddenly, a man grabbed her from behind. He covered her mouth to prevent her from screaming and dragged her from the side of the road. 

According to the complaint, the person wanted a gold chain from the girl, but she did not have anything expensive, when she told the accused that she didn't have anything, he threatened to kill her and proceeded to sexually assault her.

During the incident, the girl was on a phone call with her friend, who heard her scream and raised an alarm. The victim then went to the police station with her parents and registered an FIR at the Sector 17 police station. While investigating, the police learned of a similar case reported at the Sector 11 police station on June 10.

The SHO of the police station, Roy, said, "On the basis of two complaints, we started probing the matter by scrutinizing the CCTV footage of various areas. We found that the accused was riding a white-colored Activa. Noting specific details like missing rear-view mirrors and a particular type of helmet, we began tracing the vehicle. Nearly 1,000 similar white scooters across the Tricity were verified in six weeks to trace the accused."
