Bank customers across various states are advised to plan their transactions as a long holiday weekend begins today. According to the report, banks in several regions will remain closed for up to four consecutive days starting Friday, January 23, due to a combination of regional festivals, weekend breaks, and Republic Day.

The holiday sequence begins today, Friday, January 23, in several states, including West Bengal, Odisha, and Tripura, on account of the birth anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose and Basant Panchami. Also, the report notes that bank holidays often vary by state, and customers should check their specific local notifications. While banks in these states remain closed today, a nationwide shutdown will follow immediately starting tomorrow.
