According to information, TCS is planning to hire 40k freshers this financial year. The IT sector is undergoing significant transformation with India being the go-to destination for talent, adapting to the tectonic shifts shaping the sector.

In June, TCS added 5,452 employees bringing the total headcount to 606,998. The company now plans to hire around 40,000 freshers.

"The diversity of skills that are required, the talent available in other markets, another geopolitical look at all of these, India is a destination for talent, and that is not going to change in the near future," said TCS CHRO Milind Lakkad. 

Moreover, he highlighted the company's efforts in bridging the gap between academia and industry requirements through reskilling and upskilling initiatives, which are difficult to replicate on such a large scale.
