Chief Minister announced schemes worth several crores during Pragati Yatra in Muzaffarpur district
Pragati Yatra in Muzaffarpur district latest news updates: Patna On July 31, 2025, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar laid the foundation stone of various development schemes worth Rs 574.16 crore announced during Pragati Yatra in Muzaffarpur district in a program organized near Bhagwanpur Chowk in Muzaffarpur.
Under this, construction work of ROB cum approach road at railway crossing number 4A railway km 50/36-38 on Madipur Power House Chowk path between Ramdayalu Nagar-Muzaffarpur railway station at a cost of Rs 167.68 crore and construction work of road from Siphapur to Chakmuhabbat and Jail Chowk, Muzaffarpur-Pusa Road to Chandwara bridge approach path (Jagannath Mishra College Bridge Project Phase-2) at a cost of Rs 120.93 crore is included. Also, foundation stone was laid today for widening and upgradation of the stretch from Chandni Chowk to Ramdayalu Nagar at a cost of Rs 44.76 crore and widening and strengthening work of 7 km of Chandni Chowk to Bakhri road at a cost of Rs 89.77 crore. Apart from this, widening and strengthening work from 20.43 km to 29.80 km of Shivhar-Meenapur-Kanti road at a cost of Rs 52.56 crore and widening and strengthening work from km zero to 9.7 km of Kanti (NH 28) to Raghai Ghat road of Shivhar-Meenapur-Kanti road at a cost of Rs 74.18 crore and construction of high level RCC bridge (length 174.24 m) at Bhattgama Madhurpatti Ghat under Gaighat block at a cost of Rs 24.28 crore.
After the foundation stone laying ceremony, the Chief Minister interacted with social security pensioners at Teacher Training College, Patahi. The beneficiaries thanked the Chief Minister for increasing the pension amount from Rs 400 to Rs 1100 per month and said that an amount of Rs 1100 has come into our account. This increase in the amount is providing convenience to our family. We are grateful to you for this. On this occasion, the Chief Minister provided tricycles to the disabled. Also, a cheque of Rs 1 lakh each was provided to the beneficiaries of the Inter-caste Marriage Promotion Scheme. The Chief Minister said that we are continuously working for your respectable living. We want you to live your life well and with dignity.
On making 125 units of electricity free of cost to every domestic consumer under the Chief Minister's Electricity Consumer Assistance Scheme, the domestic consumers present there thanked the Chief Minister and said that this will benefit all of us a lot, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for this. Our family is very happy with this. This will save our family expenses and children will be facilitated in their studies.

On this occasion, the Chief Minister presented a symbolic cheque of Rs 105 crore to 5642 self-help groups and Rs 2 crore 11 lakh to 201 self-help groups. The Jeevika sisters present there gave detailed information about their products and activities to the Chief Minister. Expressing gratitude to the Chief Minister, Jeevika didis said that we are getting a lot of benefits from your schemes. Our families are progressing and we are getting a respectable place in the society. You have done a lot of work for us, due to which our standard of living has improved and we are living our lives by becoming self-reliant. While talking to Jeevika didis, the Chief Minister said that when our government was formed in Bihar, the number of self-help groups here was negligible. We started increasing the number of self-help groups by taking a loan from the World Bank in the year 2006. All of you Jeevika didis are doing very good work. We named the self-help group as Jeevika and all of you are called Jeevika didis. Inspired by our work, the central government of that time implemented this scheme in the whole country with the name of Aajeevika. All of you live with pride and move forward. The government will help you in every possible way.
After this, the Chief Minister inspected the under-construction ROB of Muzaffarpur-Bypass. Muzaffarpur bypass is being constructed in a total length of 16.87 km at a cost of Rs 250 crore. In this project, except ROB, the construction of the remaining road has been completed. During the inspection, the Chief Minister said that the remaining work should be completed soon. With its completion, traffic in Muzaffarpur city will become more smooth.
It is worth noting that during the Pragati Yatra, the Chief Minister had seen the development works of Muzaffarpur district on January 5, 2025 and announced several development schemes. Out of these, the foundation stone of a total of seven schemes whose total estimated amount is Rs 574.16 crore (five thousand seventy four crore sixteen lakh rupees) was laid by the Chief Minister today. These seven
schemes include three schemes of Bihar State Bridge Construction Corporation, three schemes of Road Construction Department and one scheme of Rural Works Department.
