According to PTI, the incident occurred at 1 Polo Road, near the residences of both RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav and Minister Ashok Choudhary.

Responding to media queries, Tejashwi said, “There is a complete rule of criminals in place now. There is no government... Anarchy has taken over the administration. A shooting took place right outside my residence in a VVIP area — this has never happened before.”

He further added, “Nobody is safe in Bihar. There is a complete breakdown of law and order. Nitish ji frames laws but frees those carrying AK-47s... He supports criminals.”

Earlier, in a post on X following the incident, he wrote, “Under the demonic rule of the NDA, the morale of criminals protected by the government is so high that in a high-security zone — just a short distance from the Governor’s residence (Raj Bhawan), the Chief Minister’s residence, the Leader of the Opposition’s residence, judges’ residences, and the airport — dreaded criminals are roaming freely and firing openly. Beware! What if someone calls it Jungle Raj? Anyway, the Prime Minister is visiting Bihar tomorrow, so the Godi media will try to maintain a positive image.”

The incident comes just ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s scheduled visit to the state on June 20, in view of the upcoming elections later this year.
