Aam Aadmi Party stages massive protest at Gardanibagh, Patna against eviction of Bihari families in Delhi
Aam Aadmi Party stages protest at Gardanibagh: In protest against the displacement of thousands of Bihari families in Delhi and widespread corruption and injustice in Bihar — from education to employment — the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) staged a powerful protest at Gardanibagh, Patna on Tuesday. The protest was led by Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh, accompanied by Bihar in-charge Ajesh Yadav, Delhi’s Burari MLA Sanjeev Jha, Bihar State President Rakesh Yadav, and several other senior leaders.
Addressing the crowd of hundreds gathered at the protest site, MP Sanjay Singh launched a scathing attack on the BJP-led central government, stating that the government is no longer democratic but moving toward authoritarianism. He highlighted that inflation is at its peak, unemployment among youth is rampant, farmers are committing suicide, and yet the ruling party is only focused on suppressing and intimidating opposition voices.
Sanjay Singh said that agencies like the ED and CBI are being misused to silence the people’s voice. “AAP has never bowed down to such tactics and never will. We have always fought for truth, the Constitution, and the rights of the people—and we will continue to do so,” he asserted.
Taking a dig at Bihar’s double-engine government, he said, “This is a government of paper leaks, one that has ruined the future of lakhs of youth. It is now time to uproot this corrupt regime.” He added, “Any government that fails to provide jobs or conduct fair exams does not deserve to remain in power.”
On caste-based census, Singh stated, “Caste census is the foundation for delivering justice to all sections of society. But don’t trust the BJP — they will never conduct it. Their entire politics is built around suppressing social justice.”
The issue of injustice against people from Bihar and Purvanchal in Delhi also echoed strongly during the protest. Sanjay Singh stated, “Demolishing slums in Delhi and rendering the poor from Bihar homeless is not just injustice, but an organized attack on hardworking Purvanchalis. AAP will never tolerate this.”
Questioning the Agniveer scheme, he said it is a betrayal of the youth. “Four years of service followed by unemployment—this is the so-called ‘military reform’ by this government. This scheme is a threat to both the future of our youth and national security.”
Bihar in-charge Ajesh Yadav, in his address, said that the people of Bihar now want change. He said, “AAP is the only alternative that works with honesty and focuses on education, healthcare, and public service.”
Delhi’s Burari MLA Sanjeev Jha strongly criticized the BJP governments, stating, “The harassment of people from Bihar and Purvanchal under BJP rule is condemnable. In Delhi, thousands of families are being made homeless by demolishing slums — this is a direct attack on hardworking Biharis and Purvanchalis. AAP will raise its voice against this injustice on every platform. We will not remain silent — every act of tyranny will be confronted.”
Bihar State President Rakesh Yadav emphasized that AAP will now reach every village and district and be the voice of every citizen struggling for education, healthcare, employment, and a life of dignity.
He added that this protest was not just an expression of opposition but the beginning of a larger struggle, where AAP is committed to providing a new political alternative on the soil of Bihar.
