Social welfare department runs six different pension schemes for old age people, widowed women and differently abled persons.

Chief Minister of Bihar Nitish Kumar to Transfer Hiked Rs 1100 Pension via DBT Tomorrow Latest news: It gives a sigh of relief to the common people especially the lower strata of the society when the government schemes translates into reality and come knocking as a big help to the needy people in the form of financial aid.
Tomorrow i.e. July 11 is going to be a historic day for more than one crore people of Bihar as old age people, widowed women and differently abled persons will be getting hiked amount of pension. The state cabinet recently almost tripled the amount of pension.

Reason, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Friday (July 11) will transfer increased pension amount of Rs 1100 via DBT directly into the bank accounts of 1.11 crore beneficiaries entitled to get pension under six social security schemes. 
More than Rs 1227 crore to be disbursed among 1.11 Cr beneficiaries under six different pension schemes being run by the state government with a view to give social security protection to them. This is the first time when pension amount has been almost tripled to Rs 1100 per month from the existing Rs 400. It has been made applicable from the month of June and the beneficiaries would get the increased pension from July itself.

Social welfare department runs six different pension schemes for old age people, widowed women and differently abled persons. The names of six pension schemes are- Indira Gandhi National Old Age Pension Scheme, Mukhyamantri Vridhjan Pension Yojana, Indira Gandhi National Widow Pension Scheme, Lakshmibai Social Security Pension Scheme, Indira Gandhi National Disability Pension Scheme and Bihar State Disability Pension Scheme. 

Highest beneficiaries in Madhubani-      

The highest number of beneficiaries in all the six pension schemes is in Madhubani district. A total of Rs 61.08 crore will be disbursed among 5,53,848 beneficiaries in the district while Rs 57.94 crore will be distributed among 5,26,339 beneficiaries in Patna which stood at second spot. East Champaran stood at third place where Rs 57.18 crore will be distributed among 5,17,711 beneficiaries’ accounts.
A total of Rs 52.12 crore among 4.73 lakh beneficiaries in Samastipur, Rs 49.06 crore among 4.45 lakh beneficiaries in Gaya, Rs 46.96 crore among 4.24 lakh beneficiaries in Darbhanga and Rs 46.17 crore among 4.19 lakh beneficiaries in Saran district will be disbursed on the launch day.

Sheikhpura, having lowest number of beneficiaries- 

While on the other hand, there are districts such as Sheikhpura, Sheohar, Arwal which have comparatively less number of beneficiaries. With 71,971 beneficiaries, Sheikhpura has the lowest number of beneficiaries among whom a total of Rs 7.95 crore would be distributed. 
Similarly, Rs 8.42 crore would be distributed among 76,391 beneficiaries in Sheohar district, Rs 9.31 crore would be distributed among 84,391 beneficiaries in Arwal, Rs 12.40 crore among 1.12 lakh beneficiaries in Lakhisarai, Rs 14.65 crore among 1.33 lakh beneficiaries in Jehanabad, Rs 15.16 crore among 1.37 lakh beneficiaries in Munger, Rs 20.53 crore among 1.86 lakh beneficiaries in Jamui, Rs 21.64 crore among 1.90 lakh beneficiaries in Buxar district. 

Bihar State Disability Pension Scheme-

Under Bihar Disability Pension Scheme, Rs 106.24 crore will be distributed among 9.65 lakh pension holders in the state. A sum of Rs 8.11 crore will be transferred among 76,663 beneficiaries in Samastipur district, which has the maximum number of beneficiaries under the scheme.
Along with this, Rs 5.90 crore will be distributed among 53,650 beneficiaries in Patna, Rs 4.77 crore among 43,369 people in West Champaran, Rs 4.64 crore among 42,184 people in Saran, Rs 4.49 crore among 40,840 beneficiaries in Gaya. 

Indira Gandhi National Disability Pension Scheme- 

Under the scheme, a total amount of Rs 12.16 crore will be distributed among 1.10 lakh beneficiaries across the state. The highest number of beneficiaries is in Madhubani, where Rs 89.25 lakh will be distributed among 8,114 beneficiaries. 
A sum of Rs 89.18 lakh will be distributed among 8,108 beneficiaries in Madhepura district, Rs 88.99 lakh among 8090 in East Champaran, Rs 85.04 lakh among 7,731 pension holders in Saran. The least amount of Rs 2.86 lakh will be distributed among 260 beneficiaries in Jehanabad, followed by Sheohar with Rs 4.11 lakh among 374 beneficiaries, while Rs 10.56 lakh to be distributed among 960 beneficiaries in Sheikhpura district.

Indira Gandhi National Old Age Pension Scheme-

A total amount of Rs 391 crore will be distributed among a whopping 35.57 lakh beneficiaries of the old age pension scheme in the state. The highest amount of Rs 24.10 crore will be distributed among 2.19 lakh beneficiaries, followed by Rs 22.62 crore among 2.05 lakh pensioners’ accounts in Muzaffarpur, Rs 18.57 crore among 1.68 lakh in Vaishali, Rs 18.33 crore among 1.66 lakh people, Rs 16.11 crore among 1.46 lakh in Darbhanga, Rs 15.27 crore among 1.38 lakh beneficiaries in Gaya district. 

Indira Gandhi National Widow Pension Scheme-

Under the scheme, Rs 69.62 crore will be distributed among 6.32 beneficiaries in the state. The highest number of beneficiaries is in Madhubani district under the scheme. A total amount of Rs 4.09 crore will be disbursed among 37,241 beneficiaries’ bank accounts, followed by Rs 4.01 crore among 36,527 in Muzaffarpur, Rs 3.71 crore among 33,741 beneficiaries in Darbhanga, Rs 2.83 crore among 25,754 in Purnia, Rs 2.73 crore among 24,811 in West Champaran, Rs 2.71 crore among 24,636 beneficiaries in Katihar district.

Lakshmibai Social Security Pension Scheme-

Under the Lakshmibai pension scheme, Rs 95.25 crore will be disbursed among 8.64 lakh beneficiaries in the state. Patna has the highest number of beneficiaries under this scheme where a sum of Rs 8.27 crore will be disbursed among 75,184 pensioners. Besides, Rs 5.13 will be given into the bank accounts of 46,598 beneficiaries in Gaya, followed by Rs 4.27 crore among 38,881 people in Siwan, Rs 4.17 crore among 37,901 beneficiaries in Rohtas, Rs 4.14 crore among 37,639 beneficiaries in Saran district.

Mukhyamantri Vridhjan Pension Yojna -

Under Vridhjan pension scheme, Rs 552.69 crore will be distributed among 49.89 lakh beneficiaries in the state. The highest number of beneficiaries under the scheme is in East Champaran district, where Rs 27.70 crore will be distributed among 2.49 lakh people’s accounts.
Besides, Rs 26.59 crore will be distributed among 2.40 lakh beneficiaries under the scheme, followed by Rs 23.03 crore among 2.09 lakh beneficiaries in Patna, Rs 22.85 crore among 2.06 lakh beneficiaries in Muzaffarpur, Rs 22.22 crore among 2.01 lakh beneficiaries in Gaya and Rs 21.90 crore among 1.98 lakh beneficiaries in Samastipur district.
