A detailed post-mortem examination of Dularchand Yadav has been conducted, including videographic documentation, Bihar DGP Vinay Kumar said on Sunday while addressing the media regarding the arrest of JDU’s Mokama candidate, Anant Singh, in the murder case.
A bullet mark was found on the leg of the deceased; however, it was not the cause of death, DGP Vinay Kumar confirmed. He added that the primary cause of death was determined to be cardiac and respiratory failure.

A CID team has been constituted to investigate the incident. Preliminary findings suggest that the vehicle may have rammed into the deceased during the scuffle. The officer added that whether this act was intentional or accidental will be determined after a thorough investigation.
Bihar DGP Vinay Kumar assured that the incident, which occurred on October 30, is being taken very seriously. “It was an unfortunate incident involving a clash between the supporters of two candidates while their vehicles were passing. Heavy stone-pelting took place, resulting in injuries and the tragic death of Dularchand Yadav,” the officer further stated.
Police plan to recreate the crime scene
Bihar DGP Vinay Kumar, further addressing the media, stated that there were very few eyewitnesses; however, he noted that an investigation is ongoing, including a recreation of the crime scene.
The weapon used to fire the bullet into the deceased’s leg has not yet been recovered, he added.
The police have arrested several individuals who were allegedly involved and present at the time of the incident.
“We are closely monitoring the candidates' movements and working to identify additional suspects based on available video footage. No one will be spared in this matter..." the police officer assured.
