According to a magazine by the University of Chicago, Subrahmanyan Chandrasekhar left India and went to England in 1930. After six years, he returned to India and married a woman. Chandrasekhar then left for Chicago, where he lived for the rest of his life.

Chandrasekhar was born in Lahore in 1910, then British India and now Pakistan, said the magazine.
