Pariksha Pe Charcha: PM Modi Interacts with Assam Students on Brahmaputra Cruise

As part of the Pariksha Pe Charcha programme during his visit to Assam, PM Narendra Modi started a unique interaction with school students on Sunday. The Prime Minister interacted with students while cruising on the Brahmaputra River aboard the three-deck vessel M V Charaidew 2, marking a departure from the programme’s usual auditorium-based format.

Around 25 students from different schools across Assam took part in the interaction, officials said. Modi spent approximately 45 minutes engaging with the students on the upper deck of the cruise ship and discussed issues related to examinations and academic pressure.

Officials said the Prime Minister arrived at the Guwahati Gateway Terminal, a newly inaugurated Inland Water Transport facility, before walking across a floating bridge to board the vessel. High security arrangements were made along the river stretch, with personnel from the River Police, National Disaster Response Force and State Disaster Response Force deployed from early morning to ensure safety.

According to officials, as a precautionary measure ahead of the Prime Minister’s programme, ferry services on the Brahmaputra were suspended for two days. The riverfront area and surrounding zones were closely monitored throughout the interaction.

During the session, Modi addressed students’ concerns related to exams, stress management and preparation strategies. Pariksha Pe Charcha is an initiative launched by the Prime Minister to encourage open dialogue between students and leadership on examination-related anxiety and mental well-being. The programme’s aim is to promote a positive and stress-free approach to learning among students.

Although the Assam interaction involved a limited number of students in person, the initiative is part of a larger nationwide programme connecting with students across the country through digital platforms and pre-event activities.

Officials further added the participating students represented diverse educational backgrounds, including government, private and residential schools from various parts of Assam. The interaction highlighted the broader objective of Pariksha Pe Charcha: to help students build confidence, reduce exam stress and approach academics with a balanced mindset ahead of major examinations.
