the President of the NSUI in Punjab, has urged students to avoid illegal methods in their tracking of opportunities abroad
Punjab NSUI President Calls for Govt Action on Illegal Immigration and Job Provision latest news: Chandigarh: Isharpreet Singh, the President of the National Students' Union of India (NSUI) in Punjab, has urged students to avoid illegal methods in their tracking of opportunities abroad. He stressed the importance of the Punjab government creating job opportunities within the state to retain its youth.
Isharpreet pointed out the situation of approximately 700,000 students waiting to return to Punjab from various countries.
He criticized the government for not providing sufficient job opportunities and called for action against agents who exploit students. Drawing comparisons to former US President Donald Trump's immigration policies, Isharpreet argued that while Trump focused on deporting illegal immigrants to boost the US economy, Punjab should prioritize its own youth.
He noted that many Punjabi students abroad contribute taxes to Punjab, and the government must address this issue. The trend of 'Dunki' migration, first originated in Gujarat and spread to Haryana and Punjab, has seen around 1,200 to 1,300 students leaving the country daily.
Agents facilitate these migrations, with 4,000 to 4,500 students applying each day, and approximately 1,000 bring back them to illegal methods and earn commissions from foreign colleges, further complicating the situation.
Isharpreet called for immediate government stepping in to provide job opportunities for returning students and to take action against fraudmisleading agents. He focuses attention on that it is the government's responsibility to ensure a secure and successful future for Punjab's youth.
