Mehbooba inaugurates several key projects in Jammu

Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti today inaugurated several key development projects here including an Entrepreneurship Development Institute and upgraded an traffic system. The Jammu campus of EDI will be constructed at the Bari Brahmna Industrial Estate (BBIE) here. To be built over a cost of Rs 82.89 crore, the campus would be completed in four years and have facilities like incubation centres, hostels and libraries for budding entrepreneurs

Jammu: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti today inaugurated several key development projects here including an Entrepreneurship Development Institute and upgraded an traffic system. The Jammu campus of EDI will be constructed at the Bari Brahmna Industrial Estate (BBIE) here. To be built over a cost of Rs 82.89 crore, the campus would be completed in four years and have facilities like incubation centres, hostels and libraries for budding entrepreneurs. Deputy Chief Minister Nirmal Singh and Minister for Industries and Commerce Chander Parkash Ganga were also present on the occasion. Mufti asked the EDI director to explore the possibilities of setting up such facilities at the district level. She also inaugurated the Intelligent Traffic System for Jammu city which would regulate and sensitise traffic movement in the winter capital through an automated system, giving much relief from frequent congestions to the commuters. The chief minister inaugurated the upgraded SIDCO (State Industrial Development Corporation) complex, being developed at a cost of Rs 35.90 crore. It includes improved road connectivity within the industrial estate, street lighting, upgraded facilities for unit holders and visitors and other facilities. Mufti also laid the foundation of the factory and showroom of the Government Joinery Mills at BBIE. It is expected to be completed by March 2018. The factory, with latest tools and gadgets, would come up at a cost of Rs 9 crore while the showroom would cost Rs 2.80 crore. The chief minister also laid the foundation of ramp based multi-level car parking facilities at Peerkhu and Panjtithi. Both the parking facilities would be built at a cumulative cost of Rs 45 crore and provide multi-level parking facility to around 300 cars and small vehicles. PTI AB ARK MIN
