Shimla: Shimla girl Aparna Sud has bagged IIFA production designer award for a Bollywood film “Neerja”. She will receive the award tomorrow during the 18th IIFA ceremony in New York. She won Filmfare Award in February this year for designing the replica of Pan-American Airways’ Boeing aircraft for the movie.

Shimla: Shimla girl Aparna Sud has bagged IIFA production designer award for a Bollywood film “Neerja”. She will receive the award tomorrow during the 18th IIFA ceremony in New York. She won Filmfare Award in February this year for designing the replica of Pan-American Airways’ Boeing aircraft for the movie. Capt Ved Sud, Aparna’s father, said it was a matter of great pride for the family.

In an interview she gave before leaving for New York, Aparna said it took 48 days to built the plane replica. Aparna also has won accolades for films such as Tevar and ABCD: Any Body Can Dance. But she termed Neerja as “one of the biggest and most interesting projects” in her career. Her father said Aparna was working as production designer in Hollywood movie Heartbeats, directed by Duane Adler.
