No trace of Chandigarh based trekker after 4 days

Kullu: Search teams have so far found no trace of a Chandigarh-based trekker Abhishek Kharwanda (23), who had gone missing on July 3 on the way back from Shrikhand in Anni subdivision of the district.

Kullu: Search teams have so far found no trace of a Chandigarh-based trekker Abhishek Kharwanda (23), who had gone missing on July 3 on the way back from Shrikhand in Anni subdivision of the district.

Search teams, including a private rescue team, have so far been unable to locate Kharwanda. Bad weather has hampered the search operation. The aerial recce of the area will be carried out to locate the trekker, said Kullu SP Padam Chand.

Anni DSP Baldev Thakur said the local administration had not received any update from the rescue teams. He said Abhishek’s relatives had arrived and the police were making all efforts to locate the trekker.

Four boys had reportedly gone for trekking on July 1. They informed the police upon reaching Thachdu on Wednesday that their friend and one of the trekkers had gone missing.
