Man duped of Rs 7 lakh by travel agents

Nurpur: The Indora police registered a forgery case against Ashok Thakur, his daughter Zeena Thakur, and Ankush of Surajpur, for allegedly duping Jatinder Singh, a resident of Mohatli of Rs 7 lakh, last evening.

Nurpur: The Indora police registered a forgery case against Ashok Thakur, his daughter Zeena Thakur, and Ankush of Surajpur, for allegedly duping Jatinder Singh, a resident of Mohatli of Rs 7 lakh, last evening.

As per police information, following the complaint of the victim, Jatinder Singh, a case under Sections 420,465,471,120(B) and 34 of the IPC has been registered against the trio who allegedly hatched a criminal conspiracy to send the complainant abroad a few months ago.

The accused travel agents allegedly took Rs 7 lakh and passport from the complainant and promised to send him abroad by fulfilling all formalities within a couple of days. After waiting for a few months for his visa, the complainant approached the accused repeatedly for either fulfilling their promise or return his passport and money but they failed to do so. Following pressure, Zeena Thakur reportedly issued a bank cheque to the complainant.
