While the BJP councilors have termed July 3 as a black day in the history of Shimla and said that the incident was not reflective of the democratic India holding the Youth Congress activists responsible for attack, the Congressmen said that scared of state Youth Congress president Vikramaditya Singh’s Vikas Prachar Yatra, the BJP is making baseless allegations to tarnish the image of the Youth Congress workers.

The BJP maintained that the incident is a glaring example of mafia raj and lawlessness prevailing in the state as the government is shielding goons and called upon the citizens to stand up and fight against these anti-social elements.

The Congress loyalists stated that Parmar had beaten Congress activist Jitender Kumar after the Shimla Municipal Corporation results were declared and said an FIR had been registered even before the attack on Parmar. Congress workers even justified the attack and said that a traitor should be treated this way only.
