He was addressing a public meeting in Nalagarh where he dedicated development projects of around Rs 76 crore. “Roads are the lifeline of a place and help farmers and fruit growers in transporting their produce to the market,” he said. He inaugurated several development projects and laid foundation stones of many projects.
Virbhadra said despite being a hill state, Himachal had made progress in the field of education, electrification, health and road network. “It is not just that all our villages are electrified but the light of knowledge has also been spread to every nook and corner where educational institutions have been opened,” he said.
He added that the biggest beneficiary of schools and colleges in villages were girls who had to discontinue their studies.
He dedicated Khera Nanowal bridge across the Sirsa rivulet completed with an outlay of Rs 6.50 crore and inaugurated the Regional Transport Office building at Nalagarh. He also inaugurated Health Sub-Centre, Kanganwal, completed at a cost of Rs 21.24 lakh.
The Chief Minister later inaugurated Workers Transit Hostel of the Himachal Pradesh Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board at Ghansot in Radyali.
He inaugurated the Community Health Centre, Ramshehar, and Primary Health Centre, Goyla-Panner, and Rs 22 lakh Health Sub-Centre at Baheri. He also laid the foundation stone of an indoor stadium, Kripalpur, which would have facilities like gymnasium, badminton court, snookers, table tennis, etc.
He laid foundation stones of a bridge on Dhang Rajpura road across the Chinki Khud, 10 check dams, 28 tube wells for the benefit of eight villages and four water supply schemes at Bhaatian. He also laid the foundation stones of Dhabota Ratyor-Bodla bridge over Mahandev Khud and Sabji Mandi at Nalagarh.
