Solan: Activists of the BJP entered into a scuffle with the police here today over burning an effigy of CM Virbhadra Singh during a protest outside the DC office against inept handling of Kotkhai rape and murder case. The fracas began after the police reportedly tried to stop the BJP activists from burning the CM’s effigy.

The fracas began after the police reportedly tried to stop the BJP activists from burning the CM’s effigy.

The party activists also handed over a memorandum addressed to Governor Acharya Devvrat to the DC expressing concern over the deteriorating law and order situation in the state.

The protest was led by local MLA and BJP’s chief spokesperson Dr Rajiv Bindal. He criticised the CM for stating that rape incidents took place everywhere, adding it reflected his indifference towards the suffering of the common man.
