Shimla: The police today detained two more suspects in the rape and murder case of a 16-year-old Kotkhai girl even as the state government sent a formal request to the CBI to take over the case.
Shimla: The police today detained two more suspects in the rape and murder case of a 16-year-old Kotkhai girl even as the state government sent a formal request to the CBI to take over the case.
The suspects had to face public wrath when they were being taken to the local Ripon Hospital for medical examination. Refusing to divulge any details about the two youths, police officials clarified that they had not been arrested. They said it was part of the investigation to collect more evidence. Hundreds of people had assembled outside the hospital and the police had a tough time saving the youths.
The police officials, who desisted from making any disclosure about the investigations and quizzing of the suspects, urged the media not to hamper the probe by putting out details of the suspects. So far, six arrests have been made in the case.
