Yamunanagar: A team of the State Vigilance Bureau yesterday caught Section Officer (SO) Shrawan Kumar Saini posted at the office of the district education officer, Yamunanagar, red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 2,000.
Yamunanagar: A team of the State Vigilance Bureau yesterday caught Section Officer (SO) Shrawan Kumar Saini posted at the office of the district education officer, Yamunanagar, red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 2,000.
The complainant, Baldev Raj Batra, said his wife Raj Rani retired from a government-aided school as a teacher on March 31. She visited the office of the district education officer several times to get her file of retirement pension prepared but Saini demanded Rs 4,000 to do the work. However, the deal was struck for Rs 2,000.
He said they approached officers of the Vigilance Bureau in Yamunanagar. A team comprising Jagadhri tehsildar Darshan Kumar and vigilance inspector Rajesh Kumar raided the office of the district education officer and arrested Saini with the bribe money of Rs 2,000.
