Some Bagrang Dal activists heckled and slapped the man outside the mosque on Tuesday when he refused to say ‘Bharat Mata ki Jai’. The incident came days after seven Hindu pilgrims on Amarnath Yatra were killed in a militant attack.
The development came amid reports of growing hate crimes against Muslims in the country. A Muslim teenager was stabbed in a train by a mob in Haryana’s Balabgarh on June 22.
