“ We had over 4,000 cases last year . We have alerted all community health centres and local panchayats have been asked to report every case of fever in villages. We are treating patients at stage one itself to ensure that no casuality is there this season,” said medical officer Atul Chowdhary.
Mani Ram Sharma, DC, said: “We started anti-malaria initiatives some six months ago. We are going from village to village, dissuading people from visiting quacks. The patients are being made to undergo diagnostic tests. The casualties occurred last year as people did not approach doctors but wasted time in home remedies or were mislead by quacks.”
