PAU Releases Official Dates for State-Wide Kisan Melas

The Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) has officially released the schedule for its series of seven Kisan Melas (Farmers' Fairs) to be held across the state in March 2026. 

These fairs serve as a crucial platform for farmers to access high-quality seeds for the upcoming Kharif season and witness the latest technological advancements.

According to PAU Director of Extension Education Dr M.S. Bhullar, the series will begin on March 10 at Nagkalan-Jahangir (Amritsar), followed by fairs at Rauni (Patiala) on March 12, Ballowal Saunkhri on March 14, and Faridkot on March 17.

The two-day flagship mela at the PAU Campus in Ludhiana is scheduled for March 20 and 21. The series will conclude with melas at Bathinda on March 24 and Gurdaspur on March 27.

PAU Vice-Chancellor Dr Satbir Singh Gosal said that the university is focusing on climate-resilient and water-saving technologies to address depleting water tables. He emphasised that the fairs would showcase new horticultural crops, including dragon fruit and strawberries, to encourage crop diversification.
