Punjab Crop Yields Severely Affected After Floods, Less Paddy Production Latest News: The 2025 floods have severely impacted crop production in the border villages of Punjab. In the border village of Jodiyan Kalan, only 5 quintals of paddy were harvested from 2 acres of land this year. In contrast, the same land produced around 50 quintals last year. This year, however, the floods destroyed the fully matured crop.
Farmer Dilbagh Singh, who brought the damaged crop to the market, said that even the cost of harvesting wouldn’t be recovered due to the poor yield.
Punjab witnessed one of the worst floods in recent memory, inundating over 2,300 villages across the state. Crops were destroyed, fertile lands were buried under sand, and many farmers also reported the loss of livestock.
