Rajewal criticized the government, stating, “The government's attitude will destroy both the farmers and the markets.”
Punjab Farmers Protest, Chakka Jam Latest News: In a significant escalation of their protest, Punjab farmers will block road traffic for three hours on October 13, from 12 PM to 3 PM, as announced by farmer leader Balbir Singh Rajewal. This decision comes as part of the ongoing agitation against what the farmers describe as the government's detrimental policies affecting the agricultural sector.
Rajewal criticized the government, stating, “The government's attitude will destroy both the farmers and the markets.” He further announced that a joint meeting with the Labor, Industry, and Commerce Board will be held on October 14 to decide on the next course of action.
Highlighting the growing intensity of the movement, Rajewal suggested that the Punjab protests may soon take on the scale of the Delhi farmers' agitation. He also demanded the government clear out 128 lakh tons of rice currently stored in warehouses, emphasizing that storage facilities are crucial for future produce.
The farmers' demands are rooted in concerns about government policies, and their protest continues to gain momentum across the state.
