Popular stand-up comedian Zakir Khan has announced an extended hiatus from live performances, citing a need to prioritise his health and personal well-being.

He made this announcement during an emotional live show in Hyderabad, which was part of his ongoing 'Papa Yaar' tour. 

According to a viral video from the event, Khan indicated that his break could last for several years, potentially extending until 2028, 2029, or even 2030.

He addressed his audience with visible emotion and expressed deep gratitude for the support he has received throughout his career journey. "I am going on a long, long break... I have to take care of my health and sort out a few other things," the comedian said. 

He emphasised that the fans present at the show are very close to his heart, and their presence means more to him than they can imagine. He said that the decision follows years of continuous work and performing.

Zakir Khan rose to fame in 2012 and has since become one of India’s most successful comedians with hit specials like Haq Se Single, Tathastu, and Delulu Express.
