Advocate Iman Singh Khara filed a petition challenging the film
Kangana Ranaut's 'Emergency' Film Release: The release of BJP MP and actress Kangana Ranaut's film Emergency may be delayed. During the hearing of the petition filed in the Punjab and Haryana High Court, the Censor Board clarified that the certificate for the film has not yet been issued. With only six days remaining until the film’s scheduled release, this delay is significant.
Advocate Iman Singh Khara filed a petition challenging the film. In the High Court, Khara stated that the Censor Board submitted its reply, indicating that the release certificate for the film has not been granted yet. According to the response, there are several complaints against the film, and it will receive a certificate only after these complaints have been addressed.
Gurcharan Singh Grewal, a member of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC), stated that while the film portrays Sikh characters accurately, there is an objection to the depiction of Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale in the trailer. Grewal emphasized that the film’s content needs to be revised, and any incorrect statements about Sikhs should be removed before the film is allowed to be screened.
Kangana Ranaut also released a video yesterday in which she claimed that the release of the film was being blocked due to threats from the censors, which she alleges are preventing the film’s release.
