New Delhi: In a series of coordinated operations, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) conducted raids on October 25, 2024, across five major cities—Delhi, Mumbai, Jaipur, Chandigarh, and Bangalore—in connection with an ongoing investigation into illegal ticket sales for the highly anticipated concerts of Coldplay and Punjabi star Diljit Dosanjh’s 'Dil-Luminati' tour. These search operations, aimed at uncovering the extent of unauthorized ticket sales, resulted in the seizure of mobile phones, laptops, SIM cards, and various electronic devices allegedly used to facilitate the fraud.
The Coldplay concert, marking one of the few international appearances for the band in India, has generated significant excitement among fans, making tickets scarce and highly sought-after. Similarly, Diljit Dosanjh’s 'Dil-Luminati' tour has seen unprecedented demand, with tickets selling out rapidly across its scheduled stops, driving fans to purchase tickets through unofficial sources.
The ED’s search operations across multiple cities are part of a broader crackdown to disrupt a network exploiting the popularity of these concerts. According to officials, these scams impact genuine fans, who are often left empty-handed due to ticket shortages or end up with counterfeit or invalid tickets.
The ED aims to trace and dismantle the complex network responsible for distributing unauthorized tickets, ensuring secure access for fans eager to attend these popular shows.
