Punjabi superstar Diljit Dosanjh has shared a deeply personal story following the massive success of his latest film, Border 2. According to the report, the actor revealed that when the original Border was released in 1997, he did not have the money to buy a ticket to watch it. The actor-singer recalled how his family also couldn't spare the funds at the time, making his current role in the sequel a significant full-circle moment.

In the film, Diljit portrays the real-life legend Flying Officer Nirmal Jit Singh Sekhon, the only Indian Air Force officer to be honored with the Param Vir Chakra. Diljit expressed his gratitude in a social media post, noting he never imagined he would one day be part of the franchise. He urged his fans to read about Sekhon’s bravery during the 1971 war.

The report highlights that Border 2 is witnessing a historic run at the box office. After a Rs 30 crore opening, the film crossed the Rs 70 crore mark within just two days. Starring alongside Sunny Deol and Varun Dhawan, Diljit’s tribute to the Punjabi war hero has resonated deeply with audiences worldwide.
