Allu Arjun Bags Best Actor Award for his outstanding performance in 'Pushpa: The Rise (Part 1)'

NEW-DELHI: The Prestigious 69th National Film Awards celebrated cinematic brilliance as 'Rocketry: The Nambi Effect' secured the coveted title of Best Feature Film for 2021. Alia Bhatt and Kriti Sanon added to the celebration by jointly clinching the Best Actress award, while Allu Arjun's outstanding performance in 'Pushpa: The Rise (Part 1)' earned him the Best Actor accolade. The event witnessed the recognition of remarkable talents across the film industry.

The compelling biopic, 'Sardar Udham Singh,' directed by Shoojit Sircar, emerged as a multi-category winner. It triumphed in the categories of Best Hindi Film, Best Cinematography (Re-recording Final Mixing), Best Production Design, and Best Costume Design. Sircar expressed his gratitude, stating, "The National Award Jury's recognition holds immense value. A film that pays tribute to the revolutionary spirit of Sardar Udham Singh, alongside figures like Bhagat Singh and the Jallianwala Bagh incident, has gained widespread recognition and respect."

Notably, Alia Bhatt and Kriti Sanon shared the spotlight, jointly winning the Best Actress award. Bhatt's compelling portrayal in "Gangubai Kathiawadi" and Sanon's remarkable performance in "Mimi" were both acknowledged for their exceptional contributions. South Indian superstar Allu Arjun's mesmerizing portrayal in "Pushpa: The Rise (Part 1)" earned him the distinction of the Best Actor.

The National Film Awards also applauded director Nikhil Mahajan, who received the Best Director award for the Marathi film 'Godavari'. The 11-member jury, led by filmmaker Ketan Mehta, meticulously evaluated and selected the award recipients for the National Awards, 2021.

Pankaj Tripathi's exceptional talent was recognized with the Best Supporting Actor award for 'Mimi', while Pallavi Joshi secured the accolade for her performance in 'The Kashmir Files'. Tripathi dedicated his award to his late father, a touching sentiment that resonated with many.

Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri's impactful film, 'The Kashmir Files,' garnered not only the appreciation of audiences but also the Nargis Dutt Award for Best Film on National Unity, a testament to its powerful storytelling.

Notably, Among the accolades, 'RRR' stood out, amassing six awards. The film's director, S.S. Rajamouli and music director M.M. Keeravani jointly secured the Best Music Direction award, sharing the honor with Devi Prasad from 'Pushpa'. 'RRR' also claimed recognition as the Best Popular Film, while other categories including Best Male Playback Singer, Best Special Effects, Best Action Direction, and Best Choreography celebrated the film's outstanding contributions. The monumental biopic by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, 'Gangubai Kathiawadi', was not far behind, clinching five awards in various categories.
