Hema Malini Slams Media for Spreading False News About Husband Dharmendra; Says He Is Responding to Treatment

Reports of Dharmendra's death had been widely circulated by several media outlets

Dharmendra Health Updates: Veteran Bollywood actress Hema Malini on Tuesday morning slammed sections of the media for spreading fake news about her husband, Dharmendra Kewal Krishan Deol. She clarified that the veteran actor is responding to treatment and recovering, and not dead as some reports falsely claimed earlier in the day.

“What is happening is unforgivable! How can responsible channels spread false news about a person who is responding to treatment and recovering? This is extremely disrespectful and irresponsible,” Hema Malini wrote in a post on X (formerly Twitter), urging the media to respect the family’s privacy during this time.

A day earlier, in a separate post, Malini had expressed gratitude to everyone for their concern, informing fans that Dharmendra was in the hospital for observation. “He is being continuously monitored, and we are all with him,” she wrote.
“I request you all to pray for his welfare and speedy recovery,” she added.

Reports of Dharmendra’s death had been widely circulated by several media outlets, including some otherwise reliable ones, before being debunked by the family.

Daughter Isha Deol, quashing the false news, has also requested privacy.
