Neetu Chandra Files PIL Against Yo Yo Honey Singh's Song 'Maniac' latest news: Renowned actor Neetu Chandra has moved a public interest litigation (PIL) in the Patna High Court, objecting to the reported vulgarity in singer Yo Yo Honey Singh's new chartbuster, 'Maniac'.

The PIL, to be heard later this month, has Singh and his co-creators, including lyricist Leo Grewal and Bhojpuri singers Ragini Vishwakarma and Arjun Ajanabi, as respondents.

In her plea, Chandra, who is from Patna and has been a name to reckon with in Bollywood as well as Bhojpuri and Maithili films, has asked the court for a directive to modify the lyrics of the song.

She argues that 'Maniac' is a display of clear sexualisation, reducing women to just sex objects. Chandra also accuses the song of employing the Bhojpuri language to vulgarise and debase the spirit of women's empowerment.

Chandra's plea emphasizes the harm such stereotypes can cause to society, especially to young minds. She asserts that the content of the song distorts Bhojpuri culture and demands wider steps to control similar songs to stop the promotion of misogynist ideas.

The hearing will decide whether the song is to be made changes or not, or be restricted. Until now, Honey Singh and his team have refused to comment on the charges.
