CID co-star, Dayanand Shetty confirmed the news: Reports

Dinesh Phadnis Death News: Dinesh Phadnis, renowned for his portrayal of Freddy in the iconic television series CID has passed away. As per the media reports, his CID co-star, Dayanand Shetty, has stepped forward to confirm the news.

In an exclusive interview with a Media Channel, Dayanand Shetty had earlier disclosed that Dinesh Phadnis was not deceased, contrary to circulating reports, but was battling a critical health condition. The misinformation initially suggested a cardiac arrest, but Shetty clarified that the actor was grappling with severe liver damage.

Shetty had explained, "Firstly, it wasn't a heart attack; it was liver damage, because of which he was immediately rushed to Tunga Hospital, Malad. For the last two days, he has been very critical. Today morning (Sunday) also I've learned that there's no major improvement. We're hoping he gets better soon."

However, he later confirmed Dinesh Phadnis' death news and was devastated about the same. 

Dinesh Phadnis earned widespread recognition for his portrayal of Fredericks in CID, contributing to the show for nearly two decades. CID, led by Shivaji Satam as ACP Pradyuman, became one of India's longest-running television series, airing for 20 years on Sony TV. In addition to CID, Phadnis made a cameo appearance in the hit TV show 'Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah' and played small roles in notable films like Sarfarosh and Super 30.
