Som's statement comes a day after External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar attended the funeral of former Bangladesh Prime Minister
Shah Rukh Khan News: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Sangeet Singh Som on Monday sharply criticised Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan, calling him a “traitor” for allegedly investing in a Bangladeshi player, and warned that the player “won't be able to step outside the airport.”
Speaking to ANI, Sangeet Singh Som said, “The way Hindus are being persecuted in Bangladesh, women and girls are being raped, their homes are being burned, and anti-India slogans are being chanted there.”
He made the remarks while talking about a statement made by spiritual leader Devkinandan Thakur, according to ANI.
Despite this, he continued, “traitors like Shah Rukh Khan, I'm calling him a traitor because everything he has is given by India, given by the people of India, but where do they invest this money? They invest it in players from a country that is working against India.”
Sangeet Singh Som further stated that Shah Rukh Khan would not be able to make Rahman play in India.
“I want to tell people like Shah Rukh Khan that they will not succeed. At any cost, they will not be able to get Mustafizur Rahman to play here. Rahman won't be able to step outside the airport,” he remarked.
“People like Shah Rukh Khan are traitors, they eat in India and sing praises of Pakistan and Bangladesh...” he alleged.
Sangeet Singh Som’s statement comes a day after External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar attended the funeral of former Bangladesh Prime Minister Khaleda Zia and met her son, Tarique Rahman.
On arrival in Dhaka, met with Mr Tarique Rahman @trahmanbnp, Acting Chairman of BNP and son of former PM of Bangladesh Begum Khaleda Zia.
