IMD forecasts relief from heatwave with upcoming rains; schools slated to reopen as planned on July 1.
Punjab School summer vacation holidays news: Due to extreme heatwave conditions in Punjab, government schools announced their summer vacations earlier than usual this year. The current summer vacation period is set to end on June 30.
Students and parents have been anticipating an extension of the holidays, spurred by continuous heatwave alerts issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD). However, recent updates have brought a shift in expectations.
The IMD has ceased issuing new heatwave alerts, noting a slight drop in temperatures and predicting rainfall starting from June 28, which is expected to bring significant relief from the oppressive heat.
With these new weather developments, the likelihood of extending summer vacations seems to be diminishing. The school administration has yet to make a final decision, but the improving weather conditions suggest that classes may resume as scheduled on July 1.
Parents and students are urged to stay updated with official announcements from the school authorities regarding the reopening schedule, as the situation continues to evolve based on the latest meteorological data.
