Chandigarh School Holidays Extended: Schools to Remain Closed Till Jan 17

The Chandigarh Administration has announced an extension of winter holidays for all schools in the Union Territory due to the prevailing severe cold wave. 

The decision is a continuation of previous orders dated January 3 and January 9, 2026. It is focused on ensuring the safety of students during the extreme weather conditions. 

In continuation of previous orders, all government, government-aided, and recognised private schools will now remain closed until January 17, 2026.

As per the current schedule, schools will resume normal operations from January 18, 2026. 

Parents and students are advised to stay in touch with their respective school authorities for any further updates regarding timings or online classes.
