Rains lashed parts of Punjab and Haryana today including Chandigarh and its surrounding areas, causing a dip in the mercury. Various areas of the two states including Mohali, Ropar, Panchkula, Ambala and Yamunanagar received light rains. The temperature dropped by a few notches after the rains, a MeT official said here
