Sanjeev Kumar clinched gold, silver & bronze medals in the Senior National Para Wheelchair Badminton Championship

CHANDIGARH: Despite losing one leg due to polio in his childhood, Sanjeev Kumar did not lose courage and with all the hard work and perseverance, he is winning medals by participating in national and international wheelchair badminton championships. Sanjeev has become the National champion for the 11th consecutive time in the singles category at the national level.

Sanjeev Kumar clinched gold, silver and bronze medals in the Senior National Para Wheelchair Badminton Championship held in Lucknow. The match was played from 23rd to 26th March at Shakuntala Misra National Rehabilitation University, Lucknow. Sanjeev Kumar won gold in singles, silver in doubles and bronze in mixed doubles.

Sanjeev Kumar, a resident of Abohar in Punjab, said that the financial condition of his house is not such that he can buy a good wheel chair. He bought an old wheelchair from a friend for Rs 20,000 in 2008. Riding on it, he participated in tournaments till date. He is very happy with his achievement. He said that he will continue this outstanding performance in the future as well.
