On Tuesday, Indian women defeated Nepal in Dambulla

Womens Asia Cup T20 2024: On Tuesday, Indian women defeated Nepal in Dambulla and finished their league stage after crushing Nepal by 82 runs. Thus, they confirmed their semifinal spot. 

Shafali Verma's 48-ball 81 and her 122-run opening stand with Dayalan Hemalatha (47 off 42) set the platform for India's batting performance that put India in a strong position. However, the total of 178 still proved to be far too many for Nepal as Deepti Sharma (3-13) and Radha Yadav (2-12) starred with the ball for India.

The regular captain Harmanpreet Kaur and key player of the team Pooja Vastrakar were on the rest but still, India managed to outclass Nepal, comfortably.  

Nepal needed to achieve the target in or under 10 overs to surpass Pakistan on net run rate and qualify for the semifinals. However, they could only manage 96 for nine in their 20 overs, courtesy of some superb bowling from the in-form Indian attack.
