3000 Punjab Police Personnel Deployed, Extensive Measures in Place for Smooth Conduct of the Match

MOHALI: The IS Bindra Stadium in Mohali is set to host the high-stakes ODI clash between India and Australia, with robust security arrangements in place. A contingent of approximately 3,000 Punjab police personnel has been deployed to ensure the safety and smooth conduct of the event. In addition to the significant police presence, 15 anti-riot teams have been stationed to swiftly address any potential security concerns. 

Arpit Shukla, ADGP Law and Order, shared insights into the security deployment: The security mantle during the match has been entrusted to Ropar Range IG, Gurpreet Singh Bhullar. The duo of Mohali SSP, Dr. Sandeep Garg, and Ropar SSP, Viveksheel Soni, will oversee the security operations. Dr. Sandeep Garg will supervise security within the stadium premises, while Viveksheel Soni will be stationed in the surrounding areas.

Notably, To Mitigate any inconveniences for spectators, the Mohali administration has organized parking facilities at ten strategic locations. The largest parking area, accommodating around 1000 vehicles, has been set up in front of the Forest Department in Sector-68. VIP parking provisions have been established at the hockey stadium. Furthermore, the Phase-8 and Phase-9 areas, along with several other locations, have been designated for general parking to facilitate smooth traffic flow.

While anticipating potential traffic congestion during the match, the police have designated officers to manage traffic at critical intersections. ADGP Law and Order, Arpit Shukla, emphasized the resolve to maintain a trouble-free environment throughout the event, emphasizing that Punjab Police has meticulously planned to ensure peace and security. Any disruptions to peace will be met with swift and stringent action by law enforcement.
