A big news came a day ahead of the the first match of IPL 2024 — Chennai Super Kings vs Royal Challengers Bengaluru — that Ruturaj Gaikwad has replaced MS Dhoni as the captain of CSK. 

Has MS Dhoni taken retirement from IPL? Is MS Dhoni retiring? Why CSK Captain has been changed? A lot of questions turned into turmoil after the CSK fans got to know that Ruturaj Gaikwad had replaced MS Dhoni as the captain.  

Although fans love Ruturaj Gaikwad, who has proved every time with the bat in the beginning, the CSK fans would never want MS Dhoni to leave cricket. Last year, MS Dhoni confirmed that he won't be taking retirement from IPL but the recent development has once again put a question mark, in fact, a lot of questions mark. 

IPL 2024 is all set to kickoff on March 22 with arch-rivals Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bengaluru against each other. It is pertinent to mention that while CSK has changed its captain ahead of the 2024 edition, the RCB has changed its name from Royal Challengers Bangalore to Royal Challengers Bengaluru.
