Rinku had won the 22nd National Para Athletics Championship in Goa and secured a silver medal at the Fourth Asian Para Games.

New Delhi: India delivered an outstanding performance on the second day of the World Para Athletics Grand Prix 2025, with Rinku Hooda emerging as the standout athlete in the men's javelin events.Competing in the F46 category, Rinku clinched the gold medal with a remarkable throw of 60.26 meters.

He outperformed Sri Lanka’s Gamini Ketawala, who secured silver with a throw of 56.88 meters, while Uzbekistan’s Elyorbek Elmatov claimed bronze with 43.01 meters. India’s dominance was further highlighted in the men's javelin F12, F37, F42, and F43 combined category, where Indian athletes secured a podium sweep, reinforcing the country’s strong presence in the tournament.

The World Para Athletics Grand Prix 2025, held at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium from March 11 to 13, marks a historic milestone as India hosts this prestigious event for the first time. India’s performance so far has been exceptional, underlining the nation's growing stature in para-athletics on the global stage.
