India not to travel to Pakistan for ICC Champions Trophy 2025: With the draft dates for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 in Pakistan have been released, there are reports that the Indian cricket team is unlikely to travel to Pakistan in 2025.
As per the report on July 6, Team India will not travel to Pakistan for the ICC Champions Trophy which is, so far, scheduled to begin from 19 February to 9 March.
"Indian Cricket team is unlikely to travel to Pakistan for the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy. BCCI will ask ICC to host matches in Dubai or Sri Lanka," the BCCI sources told news agency ANI.
The source further added that the government’s decision on this matter would be final. Since it is an ICC event, more details may emerge during the next ICC meeting.
It is pertinent to mention that Team India has not traveled to Pakistan since 2008 and met only once for a bilateral series in 2012–13, which was held in India.
India was also supposed to travel to Pakistan in 2023 for the Asia Cup. Still, the tournament took place in a hybrid mode which took India’s matches, including the final, to Sri Lanka.
