Jyoti Singh: Captain at FIH Women’s Junior Hockey World Cup 2025 in Chile
Hockey India has announced a “20-member squad” for the upcoming “FIH Women’s Junior Hockey World Cup 2025”. It will be held in “Santiago, Chile”, from “November 25 to December 13”. The team’s captain is “Jyoti Singh”, who continues to lead with impressive performances in earlier tournaments, while “Riya Bhardwaj” serves as her deputy.
This squad has 18 core players and two alternates. It reflects a mix of experienced and young talent players. India has been kept in “Pool C” alongside “Germany, Ireland, and Namibia”, setting the stage for group clashes. “Tushar Khandker” is the coach of the team. He is a former Indian hockey player and seasoned mentor known for his emphasis on discipline and teamwork.
Khandker said in a statement, “I am very happy with the squad and the way they are playing at this moment.” My main principle is discipline, and I have kept that in focus while building this squad. We have gone through a rigorous training phase, worked hard on our defensive structure, and improved our finishing inside the opponent’s scoring area. The girls have shown significant progress in the past few months.”
Khandker added that the team is motivated and ready for the challenges ahead. “We are set to travel to Chile. The girls are determined to perform exceptionally at the World Cup,” he said.
India will begin its campaign on “December 1 against Namibia”, followed by matches against “Germany on December 3” and “Ireland on December 5”. The knockout stages will be held from “December 7 to 13”, with the top teams from each pool advancing.
