Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Anand Dubey on Sunday expressed confidence in the Indian women’s cricket team ahead of the Women’s World Cup Final between India and Sri Lanka, scheduled to be played today in Navi Mumbai.
Dubey said he has full faith in the leadership of Harmanpreet Kaur, expressing hope that Team India will lift the trophy.
“Today is the World Cup final. First of all, we wish the Indian women’s team all the best and hope that India will win under the leadership of Harmanpreet Kaur. We have failed twice before, but we remember that day of April 2, 2011, when Mahendra Singh Dhoni won the World Cup by hitting a six,” Dubey said.
He added, “We have full faith that under the leadership of Harmanpreet Kaur, the girls of our country will get a chance to win the World Cup.”
The match will be played at Dr DY Patil Sports Academy in Navi Mumbai from 3:00 PM IST.

According to BCCI, Harmanpreet Kaur, an all-rounder, made her debut for India in the year 2009. Her batting and bowling prowess over the years got her in the limelight in the international circuit, the latest feather on her cap being leading the Women's team in the Asia Cup 2016, which emerged as winners. Earlier in 2016, Harmanpreet was also signed by the Sydney Thunder in the Women's Big Bash League.
