He further stressed that the actions of a few should not tarnish the image of the entire Punjabi community.

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has strongly condemned the attack by Khalistani supporters on the Hindu Sabha temple in Brampton, Canada, on November 3, 2024. During a press conference in Bathinda, CM Mann emphasized the need for dialogue between the Indian and Canadian governments to prevent such incidents.

CM Mann stated, "What happened in Canada is deeply condemnable. Punjabis consider Canada their second home and do not support such violent acts. I urge the governments of India and Canada to take necessary actions to prevent such occurrences. We, Punjabis, are peaceful and hardworking people, and such incidents should not define our community."

He further stressed that the actions of a few should not tarnish the image of the entire Punjabi community. He added, "If some individuals engage in such activities, it does not mean all Punjabis are like that. Both communities are ours, and we need to maintain harmony. The Indian government must engage with the Canadian government to ensure this doesn’t happen again."

Addressing concerns about the incident, CM Bhagwant Mann highlighted the importance of maintaining strong relations between India and Canada. "Many families from Punjab have members living in Canada. It’s like a second home to them. People frequently travel between the two countries for festivals and celebrations. We must ensure that these ties remain strong through mutual dialogue and understanding," he said.

When questioned about the role of religious politics, CM Mann asserted, "Engaging in religious politics, especially in other countries, is wrong. The recent incident in Canada has drawn global condemnation. The Indian government has expressed strong objections to the activities of pro-Khalistan groups in Canada, raising this issue on international platforms."

The incident in question involved an attack by Khalistani supporters on devotees at the Hindu Sabha temple in Brampton. Video footage circulating on social media shows the attackers wielding sticks and carrying Khalistani flags. The attack, which took place during a consular camp organized by the Indian High Commission, has sparked widespread outrage. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi also condemned the attack, calling for swift action from the Canadian government.
