Can a Panthak leader's sin be forgiven simply by washing a few dishes or polishing shoes?
Sukhbir Singh Badal Latest News: All eyes were focused on the Akal Takht, questioning whether they would be able to do justice to the Sikh community and truly understand its concerns. The challenging period that Punjab and Sikhs are currently experiencing can be attributed largely to Sikh politicians, who have prioritized their ambitions over the interests of Sikhi and Punjab. The collective voice of every panth-loving individual in Punjab now calls for decisions that can restore the nation’s faith in these key authorities.
On Friday, Sukhbir Singh Badal was declared a 'Tankhaiya', but at the same time, a message was conveyed that the then government led by Shiromani Akali Dal and BJP, was responsible. It is worth mentioning that the 'Tankhaiya' was imposed on the founder of 'Spokesman' as well in an attempt to suppress the voice of truth. Pure politics is at play behind Sukhbir's 'thappe'.
We are all well aware of the entire process following Sauda Sadh's amnesty, recognizing that the salaried practice is often used as a political weapon. Only a few gullible people believe this is a significant step, but internally, it is merely used to distract the public.
Can a Panthak leader's decision to appoint Sumedh Saini as the DGP of Punjab or order the firing of Sikh youth be forgiven simply by washing a few dishes or polishing shoes? Forgiveness will be achieved by reinstating trust in politicians among the people, and genuine remorse must be evident for that to happen. Actions like those of the Shiromani Akali Dal president or similar moves are merely political chess plays, and the public understands this. If such tactics continue, the Akali Dal (Badal) will never regain the trust of the people.
The heart of a Sikh is vast. Guru Sahib himself made room for even the most unlikely people. True repentance is the only genuine way to atone for mistakes. Today, there is a need to invite Sikh intellectuals who are loyal only to the Gurus and not subservient to politicians to a public Sikh platform to establish the goals of the reform movement.
Politicians need to be removed from sectarian positions and confined to politics alone. Sectarian issues should not be allowed to become weapons of politics. The decision to declare Sukhbir Badal a salaried individual still seems to be part of a political plan rather than a step toward genuine reform. This influence must be overcome by the five main authorities and no one else.
