Opinion on Kolkata and Uttarakhand Rape and Murder Case news: The recent incidents of the doctor's rape and murder case in Kolkata and the similar treatment with a nurse in Uttarakhand, have once again brought the same question to our mind — How many more Nirbhayas?
2012 Delhi gang rape and murder, 2012 Suzette Jordan rape case, 2014 Shakti Mills rape case, 2014 Badaun rape case, 2016 Jisha rape case, Franco Mulakal rape case, 2017 Unnao rape case, 2018 Kathua rape case, 2019 Hyderabad rape case, 2020 Hathras gangrape case and now back-to-back cases from Kolkata and Uttarakhand, are merely the prominent cases in India but, unfortunately, there are many more Nirbhayas who haven't come out stronger because the incident not only sabotaged them but also their soul.
But again, the question remains the same. How many more Nirbhayas? When will it ever come to an end? Those who committed these atrocious crimes can't even be called demons.
Whenever such an incident happens, it puts all the men in the dock of a societal courtroom. And it is justified because it is one among the men who are responsible for such situations. Indeed some men stand up for women but it is also a harsh reality of society that there are only a few men who commit atrocities against women.
In India, girls are worshiped on all the auspicious occasions. Simultaneously, some girls are raped only for a few moments of pleasure. What kind of pleasure is this? Don't these rapists have a female in their homes? Where is the problem? Is it in the upbringing or the teaching? When will women feel safe and won't have to worry about what they're worrying about or who's staring at them?
Unfortunately, these questions are yet to be unanswered.
Women are born warriors with so many powers given to them. These men commit these crimes, without a second thought, and can't realize the pain of what they go through in their daily lives. More than pain, they fear the fear of being raped, the fear of walking alone at night, the fear of what may happen if she chooses to wear their favorite dress, the fear of trying to fulfill their dreams because eventually, there will be a man who she has to face. The fear of this, the fear of that... The world needs a place where a woman can be fearless, where they do not have to think about who's watching them. Will they be able to get it?
Yes, but only if men intend to do it. Only men can do it as it is Kalyuga, not Treta Yuga or Dvapars Yuga where Lord Rama or Lord Krishna will appear to take on the atrocities. These men must not forget that they are here in this world only because of women. Had women not been there to face the unimaginable pain, there wouldn't have been men either. Those giving pain to the women must not forget how their mother struggled for 9 months while they were in their wombs.
Live, and let the women live the life they want.
