Ukraine’s President Zelenskyy Warns of Putin’s War Expansion Plans Beyond Ukraine, Latest News: Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has warned that Russian President Vladimir Putin could expand the war in "some other direction" beyond Ukraine, accusing him of sending drones into European airspace to test NATO’s defences, India Today reported.
Zelenskyy, as quoted in the report, stated, “Putin will not wait to finish his war in Ukraine. He will open up some other direction. Nobody knows where. He wants that.”
According to the news report, Zelenskyy made this statement after meeting former US President Donald Trump on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York.
Drones were reportedly spotted over Denmark, Poland, and Romania, while Russian fighter jets violated Estonian airspace. More drones were seen near a Danish military base on Friday night and a Norwegian base on Saturday.
Zelenskyy called these drone and air incursions deliberate probes by Russia to see how NATO and European countries would respond.
The report added that earlier this month, Ukraine reported 92 drones flying toward Poland in a coordinated formation, most of which were intercepted by Ukrainian forces.
Zelenskyy further hinted that European countries were struggling to counter these attacks and said that representatives from several nations would visit Ukraine for practical training on defending against Russian aerial strikes, the report futher said.
“We are ready to share our experience,” Zelenskyy is quoted as saying in the report.
He also briefed former US President Donald Trump about the situation on the battlefield during their meeting.
